KRISTYN & BROOK BIO - "SWING CHICKS"

Mix some fiery fiddlin' fingers and sweet jazzy singin' with a powerful set of cowgirl swing rhythm guitar and vocals; sprinkle it with Texas flair and roll it atop two pairs of leather soled cowgirl boots…and you have the dynamic Western swing duo of Kristyn Harris and Brook Wallace. Kristyn starting playing at 14 years old, quickly finding her passion in the swing chordsmanship and music that goes along with the sound of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Her singing has been praised as "timeless" with "the warmth and power of Texas sunshine". She is the 2014 Academy of Western Artists Female Performer of the Year and her CD "Let Me Ride" is the reigning Swing Album of the Year from the Western Music Association. Brook Wallace has been playing fiddle since she was 5 years old, and is a talent the likes of which you will not easily forget. Partly influenced by Stephane Grappelli, Django Reinhardt, and Bob Wills, Brook has accrued numerous fiddle awards, and is the lead fiddlist with several swing, jazz and country bands. She is known for her energetic style, along with her captivating and often purely genius fiddle licks, which make her performances not to miss. Put these two together and be ready for the fun and sparks to fly!
