Western Swing Concert & Evening with Cheryl Rogers

Allen Public Library, Allen, Texas

Roy and Dale Rogers' Daughter Rides to Allen, TX with Western Swing Concert feat. Shoot Low Sheriff and Kristyn Harris

Cheryl Rogers, daughter of film, television and rodeo icons Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, is coming to the Allen Public Library 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 16, to present a newly released documentary on her parents. Cheryl will also discuss the legendary Roy Roger’s life that for most Americans embodied the spirit of the American West—horsemanship, honesty, courage, and romance. Viewing this film is a unique opportunity for Allen Public Library patrons because copyright issues require a Roy Rogers family member to be present when shown. Western Swing band Shoot Low Sheriff will perform Roy Rogers music. Lead by Erik Swanson, this band’s music combines strings, horns and a piano that evoke memories of Texas and the West. Also performing will be Kristyn Harris, winner of the 2014 Academy of Western Artists Western Female Performer of the Year. Free tickets will be issued at 7:00 p.m. The library is located at 300 N. Allen Dr. Call 214-509-4911 for more information.
